Regarding Insurance: Your insurance policy is a contract between you, your employer and your insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. If you have dental or medical insurance, we are anxious to help you receive your maximum allowable benefits. We are providers for a number of insurances and we will bill these insurance plans. For other insurance plans, we will bill these plans as a courtesy to you. Regardless of your coverage, you are responsible for your entire bill.
Usual and Customary Rates: Our practice is committed to providing the best for our patients and we charge what is usual and customary for our area. Our fees are generally considered to fall within the acceptable range by most companies, and therefore are usually covered up to the maximum allowable benefit determined by each carrier. This applies only to companies who pay a percentage (such as 50% or 80%) of usual and customary rates for this region. This statement does not apply to companies who reimburse based on an arbitrary “schedule” of fees, which bears no relationship to the current standard and cost of care in the area.
Not all services are a covered benefit in all contracts. Some insurance companies arbitrarily select certain services they will not cover.
